Who says a milkshake can’t be good for you? This one is thick, creamy and naturally sweet, with frozen strawberries, banana and vanilla Greek yogurt blended slowly until it’s almost too thick for a straw. Our kids think it’s a treat, and it is, just one that happens to be full of good things.

Strawberries are a vitamin C powerhouse. One cup gives most adults a full day’s worth, which helps support a healthy immune system and the collagen that keeps skin strong. Hemp seeds may be tiny, but they bring plant protein and omega-3 fats that support heart and brain health, and the Greek yogurt adds protein, calcium and live cultures.

A spoonful of LIVEDEN BALANCE™ rounds it out with greens and nutrients that support healthy hair, skin and nails, so this milkshake does a lot more than satisfy a sweet tooth.

Makes
about 20 oz

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup almond milk
  • 8 oz vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (about 6 to 7)
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons LIVEDEN BALANCE™
  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • A fresh strawberry, to top (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour the almond milk and Greek yogurt into a blender, then add the strawberries, banana, BALANCE and hemp seeds.
  2. Blend slowly, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until thick and smooth. Going slow is what keeps it milkshake-thick.
  3. Spoon into a glass, top with a fresh strawberry and enjoy with a straw or a spoon.

How much BALANCE

2 tablespoons (a full scoop) for an adult serving. 1 tablespoon for a child around 60 pounds, or for an afternoon smoothie, when a half serving’s natural energy is just right.

Make it your way

Dairy-free? Use a Greek-style yogurt made with almond or coconut milk. It’s so good. For the overflowing look in our photo, fill the glass right to the top and let it spill over the rim. If it’s too thick to sip, add a splash more almond milk.

For little ones

This is the one kids ask for by name. Serve it with a spoon as well as a straw, since it’s thick enough to need both.
