A girl in a white apron holding a cherry green smoothie in a glass mason jar, garnished with a cherry on a straw.

We’ve always called this one Sweet Cherry Dreams, and one sip explains the name. Three simple ingredients blend into a creamy smoothie with a deep, sweet cherry flavor that kids and grown-ups both love.

Cherries bring more than flavor. Their rich red color comes from anthocyanins, natural plant compounds that act as antioxidants, and they add vitamin C, potassium and fiber as well. Cherries have also been studied for their role in muscle recovery after exercise and in restful sleep, since they contain a little natural melatonin. Most of that research uses tart cherries, so they’re a lovely swap if you enjoy a brighter, tangier glass.

Add a spoonful of LIVEDEN BALANCE™ and that same glass carries your greens too, which makes it an easy one to pour after practice, a workout or a long afternoon. BALANCE includes its own antioxidant blend, so the two work hand in hand to help protect the body’s cells.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Pour the almond milk into a blender, then add the frozen cherries and BALANCE.
  2. For a thicker smoothie, add a few more frozen cherries or a handful of ice.
  3. Blend until smooth, then pour and enjoy.

How much BALANCE

2 tablespoons (a full scoop) for an adult serving. 1 tablespoon for a child around 60 pounds, or for an afternoon smoothie, when a half serving’s natural energy is just right.

Make it your way

Dark sweet cherries keep it mellow and sweet, while tart cherries give it a brighter tang. A few slices of frozen banana make it extra creamy. For a nut-free version, use oat or coconut milk.

For little ones

The deep cherry color makes this one a hit with kids, and a cherry tucked on the straw makes it feel like a party.
